The feeling of light – as – air you get after a good hair – washing is one that makes you want to swish your mane when you walk out of the living room (it’s not just us!).
But every time we wash our hair at home, we want that feeling, so we asked the UK from L’Oréal Paris.Ambassador Sid Hayes spilling over the secret hair – washing art in the salon.

1. Less is More: Avoid Washing Daily (Or Even Every Other Day)

“you want to apply minimal pressure. Your scalp may naturally feel it, but it’s not as dirty as you think.” That said, according to Oscar, two rounds of (smooth, non – abrasive) shampoo usually cleanse your scalp.
This process does not need to be rushed: Devote one to two minutes to massage.
The massage boosts blood flow to the scalp as an additional bonus, which can stimulate hair growth.
4. Choose a Shampoo that Suits Your Hair Type
Shampoo isn’t in your hair for so long, so what kind of shampoo you use doesn’t really matter, right?False, say the pros.
Like skin care, it’s all about identifying your type of hair and choosing a formula that suits your needs best.

2-Condition your hair before you shampoo if you have long hair.
This may be new to you, but if your hair falls over your shoulders, your hair ends need to be more conditioned to keep them strong.
Apply a nickel-sized amount of conditioner to your palms and gently massage it into your hair’s ends. This protects your ends from splitting and adds brightness!
3-Gently massage shampoo into the roots of your hair
If you have short or medium hair, measure a quarter size of shampoo in the palm of your hair.If your hair is longer than your shoulders, you can double that amount.
Rub between your palms and work the shampoo gently into your hair’s roots, massaging, not scrubbing as you go.Also, make sure you shampoo your neck well.[ 4 ] Be gentle, don’t scrub your hair and avoid movement!You don’t want to damage or break your hair cuticles.
4-Do not shampoo the ends of your hair if you have longer hair.
You need more shampoo at the roots, because that is where the majority of your your oil is.
You need less shampoo or no shampoo at your tips of your hair, because it is the oldest and driest hair. If you have product build up, you can shampoo your hair with a purifying shampoo once a week.
5-Rinse your hair and squeeze out the excess water.
Rinse your hair with warm water until shampoo free.If you have short hair, run your fingers through your hair and wick the water out of your hair.
Squeeze the water gently out of your hair in the middle and finish to prepare for the conditioner if you have longer hair.
